Best Fleets to Drive For Hits The Road

MARKHAM, ON - April 20, 2010 – CarriersEdge, the leading provider of online driver improvement, today announced dates for the 2010 Best Fleets to Drive For Seminar Series. The series, providing half-day seminars in cities across Canada, will provide tips and tricks from the U.S. and Canadian fleets identified as this year’s Best Fleets to Drive For.

Best Fleets to Drive For is an annual survey and contest conducted by the Truckload Carriers Association and CarriersEdge. It identifies the North American for-hire trucking companies that provide the best workplace experiences for company drivers and owner-operators. Nominated fleets are evaluated on the range and depth of programs being offered, the overall effectiveness of those programs across key metrics, and the responses of surveyed drivers. Fleets with the best overall scores are named Best Fleets to Drive For.

The Best Fleets to Drive For Seminar Series presents information collected during that process, including programs that improve operating efficiency across large and small fleets, trends and emerging issues for both drivers and carriers, and details of the policies and programs that drivers value most.

"This year’s Best Fleets to Drive For winners demonstrate that effective programs come from all corners of the industry," said Mark Murrell, President of CarriersEdge. "Despite a tough economy, fleets of all sizes are still finding innovative ways to provide exceptional workplace experiences for their drivers."

The 2010 Best Fleets to Drive For Seminar Series is sponsored by Marsh Canada Limited, the Canadian operation of the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor—Marsh Inc., with designated Marsh Canada offices playing host to the event.

"Best Fleets to Drive For is an outstanding program, providing a wealth of useful information about current best practices in the industry," added Scott Cober, National Transportation Practice Leader at Marsh Canada. "We’re very pleased to be presenting this seminar series and helping to share that information across the country."
